Ruby’s Surgery Fund

I am calling on friends and family of Erin & Kody, animals lovers far and wide, & anyone who finds it in their heart to share or donate after listening to this story to help these amazing dog parents and their sweet girl ❤️




I have had the pleasure of knowing Ruby since they rescued her as a tiny skinny pup. Her Birthdate is Sept 1st 2017 & she is the sweetest most gentle, happy, and loving dog you could ever meet! I swear she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Unfortunately what she does have is bad knees, elbows, & hips due to improper breeding. Because of these bad joints, Ruby has been in pain for some time but you wouldn’t know it by her happy spirit. However if you watched her walk you would clearly see she’s hurting.




Ruby had a patella repair on her RIGHT leg February 28th 2019. She now needs another patella repair on her LEFT leg but sadly has a ruptured cruciate ligament as well so she will also get a TPLO surgery. Recovery is 16weeks with lots of rehab starting at 2 weeks post op. It’s a brutal surgery so recovery needs to be very careful and by the book. The first surgery cost over 3,000$ and this second operation is quoted at 4,600$+ since it is more complex. This cost does not include rehab or post op therapy.




She also has hip and elbow dysplasia controlled by a lifetime of CBD and NSAIDS as needed. She has insurance but it doesn’t cover this surgery or the first because they consider luxating patellas a genetic condition and they say her rupturing her ligament is FROM that genetic condition. So no coverage for these 2 surgeries.




There could not be better parents for Ruby, then Erin & Kody. They do any and every possible thing to help her that they possibly can. This includes medicine, rehab, supplements, special equipment, and many other things because she is their baby. As an avid animal lover myself I can only imagine being in their shoes. With everything they have done for Ruby the financial burden has become huge. These two are not the people who would ever ask for help in this means but they deserve it.




As Erin’s best friend I’m asking and praying that you may find it in your heart to donate or share Ruby’s story to help cover costs of this second surgery. This amazing pup and her family deserve all the help and support we can give.




If there is any money left over after paying for the surgery, it will be saved for her meds and her rehab. That alone will be $300+ a month for hydrotherapy, laser therapy, exercises and whatever else they think will help.




As I said before Erin and Kody would never ask for help but they deserve our help because of that reason. Just as Ruby deserves to be able to run in her yard pain free.
