Ginas London Marathon 2023

Tax deductible
In February 2021 our daughter darcey at 2 years old was diagnosed with a rare eye cancer called retinoblastoma. It's been an emotionally difficult year to say the least but luckily for us as a family we've had on going support from the childhood eye cancer Trust. CHECT is a small charity who helps 100% of the families affected by retinoblastoma in an infinite amount of ways.
Be it emotional support, financial grants, a huge knowledge base and supporting us parents directly at every single eye exam. Or as I call it "the tumour check". I've been on the phone to lesley on more than one occasion in tears, she's seen me and my daughter at our worst in hospital and supported us through it.

Anyone who knows me will know this isn't exactly something that's going to be easy for me to do, but I will do it. Every year around 40 children will be diagnosed with retinoblastoma. Raising £2000 will provide 10 of those families with a grant to cover all the un thought of costs that come with the first few weeks, while you sort everything out. Things such as getting to London, taking time off, and so on. I remember how out of body the whole ordeal was at the start- and still is. The last thing anyone should have to worry about is money. CHECT fund vital research into retinoblastoma, Raise awareness among health professionals and the public. Influence policy to improve services for patients.
Any gift, no matter how large or small, will play an important part in helping families affected by retinoblastoma.
