I am Alana Matthew, daughter of Maxine and Allan Matthew and the proud older sister of Faith Matthew. This is my first year at Brooklyn College Academy High School. I am so excited to be a participant in the Jabberwock Program, a fundraising scholarship activity, sponsored by the Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This program is designed to provide scholarships for college. As a participant, I must help raise as much money as possible to go towards an academic scholarship to further my education, as well as other young people in the community. My goal is to reach $5,000.00. I am asking for your help in this endeavor.
It is a joy for me to be active and make positive contributions in my school, church and community.
Now let me share some of the activities in which I have participated:
I was a flutist in my school band; recipient of the STEM Science Fair Award; recipient of the STEM Summer in the City Certificate of Completion and have been acknowledged for excelling in writing and algebra. At my church, I am an usher; a member of the Celestial Choir; God’s Angels Dance Ministry and the Girl Scouts. In the scouting program, I served in the soup kitchen and donated non-perishable food to families in need. Additionally, I received awards for Responsibility, Teamwork, and Resourcefulness.
My current career goal is to be a criminal defense attorney and eventually open my own law firm.
I would really appreciate your help.
Thank you very much for your support.
