We are simply a couple of Jill's lake friends from Yankee Run. And just like us, if you know Jill, you have followed her story and felt at a loss for ways to help. Here is an opporturnity to do a little something that can ease some stress and worries so Jill can concentrate on GETTING WELL!
As you may know last May, Jill rushed to KU Medical Center with high hopes of being the recipient of 2 new organs that could save and prolong her life! She was graciously given a new pancreas and kidney from a generous donor's family. All was going well until she contracted a common virus from the new organs that her donor carried dormant in her system. Jill contracted the virus and has been fighting for her life ever since. Her new organs are as strong as ever because they had already built up antibodies while in the donor's body. But the virus has attacked Jill's nervous system and has put her in severe pain among other things. Jill is a trooper and fights the good fight, but she will have a very long road to recovery.
As friends of Jill's we know what a hard worker she and her husband Mitch are. They are self employed. Jill has had no income coming in for nearly a year. And Mitch is trying to run the family business by himself. On top of traveling to be with his wife as often as possible. This whole ordeal has had to put a financial burden on their family. Here is an opporturnity for ALL of us that have been feeling helpless and wondering, "Is there is something we can do to HELP them?
