Thorne Family

On June 27, 2019 while riding a bike with Team CBC in Apex, NC, our dear friend Andrea Thorne was struck by a car and sustained multiple injuries, including a left femur broken in two places, a broken right tibia, a crushed left wrist, a spinal cord injury [that left Andrea paralyzed from the waist down] a broken nose, cracked ribs, a brain bleed, and a concussion. After spending a week in the ICU and after multiple surgeries, Andrea spent a week in recovery and an additional 8 weeks in hospital going through rehab and PT in addition to a second wrist surgery, before returning home the day before her Birthday on Sept 7. Andrea thanks everyone for their help, including helping her family whether that be through visiting her in the hospital, sending cards, participating in a food train [enabled her husband Brian to spend time with Andrea in the hospital] bringing food to the hospital, lending a ear or shoulder to cry on, and most of all welcoming Brian into her extended family and showing him the love and support that you have always shown Andrea. There are too many people to name, you know who you are and she wants to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of her heart for everything that you do.

Thank you everyone who came out and supported Andrea and her family at the High Craft Beer Market and Bombshell Beer Company Fundraiser events. The funds raised are assisting Andrea, her husband Brian, and son Aedan with the miscellaneous expenses not covered by insurance during her continued rehabilitation and long-term care, including special equipment and the cost of modifications to allow Andrea to continue enjoying her home. The generous donations to-date have helped fund the installation of an automatic lift that was installed in the garage, providing Andrea with the access to her home and after 5 months of missing her bed, the installation of an elevator lift allowing Andrea to access her 2nd floor master bedroom. To say Andrea was excited is an understatement! Next up - modifications to the master bathroom.
