Have you heard the news!

In late July CCR received most of the equipment that once was Anchor Graphics'- Anchor Graphics was founded in1990, and then became a program of Columbia College from 2006 through 2015. 

CCR's Board of Directors jumped at the opportunity to get the Anchor presses and some of the equipment back.  You see, Anchor Graphics morphed into The Center for Collaborative Research in 2016 after Anchor's Co-founders Marilyn Propp and David Jones relocated to Kenosha Wisconsin. 

The equipment is in storage and we are in planning stages of building a permanent home for CCR.  We have chosen Milwaukee as the ideal location because of its cultural vibrancy and artistic diversity, plus there is no community printshop in the city. CCR will be in close proximity to the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Marquette University and numerous cultural institutions.

But,  that doesn't mean we are standing still.  In 2019  our P.O.W. (Press on Wheels) traveled to Milwaukee to participate in project UJIMA's annual Thanksgiving celebration with the youth and their families. We were invited to bring our POW to the Center and print relief blocks the kids had cut onto T-shirts.

CCR is seeking partners who will help us fashion an institution built on over 25 years of experience delivering activities revolving around community outreach, art-making through print, exhibitions, residencies, internships,  classes and more.

We have a lot of work to do-- we need to identify and acquire a space, build it out and get our programs started.
