Fighting for Ophelia

Donation protected
My name is Shannon, I am an old neighbor and friend of Samantha & Sabin's and like all of you, a fan of their beautiful little girl, Ophelia. On September 6, 2023 Sam & Sabin received devastating news for their sweet babygirl, childhood cancer, neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare childhood cancer, affecting approximately 700 children in the United States each year. Unfortunately,  Ophelia's case was diagnosed after she lost mobility in her lower extremities. Due to the length of time her cancer went unnoticed and undiagnosed, the tumor grew quite large, compressing her spinal cord, growing into her abdomen, and causing likely permanent paralysis from the waist down.  Ophelia's first round of chemo began immediately, day one being September 7, a day before her first birthday. Sam & Sabin spent Ophelia's first birthday celebrating in a children's hospital, while their daughter received an aggressive round of chemotherapy. For the last 3 months Sam & Sabin have been thrown curveballs constantly, Sam recently gave birth to Ophelia's brother, Ossian. Ophelia has been in and out of the hospital for treatments, labs, etc. Ophelia has physical therapy twice a week. Almost weekly, Sam & Sabin are having to travel to appointments. 3 months after being on chemotherapy, Ophelia had MRI imaging done to check the progress. While there was some shrinkage, the part tumor in her abdomen has not responded as well as they'd like. On December 27, Ophelia goes in for a big surgery, 12 hours. The doctors want to remove 50% percent of her tumor. Ophelia will have another extensive hospital stay.

Most of us can only imagine what this young family is going through. The devastating news is enough but then come the medical bills, the gas getting to and from Nashville for appointments, household expenses that keep piling up but so does the time off work. A new baby, household remodels to make their home wheelchair accessible for sweet Ophelia and now, Christmas. They are drowning and they need financial help. Please, if you're able to make a donation, it's appreciated and if not, please pray for this sweet girl and SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!
