In January 2025, our world was turned upside down when our mom, Hanna, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma—a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. Since then, she has faced every day with unimaginable strength and grace while undergoing rounds of chemotherapy.
While there is currently no cure for multiple myeloma, my mom is a strong candidate for a stem cell transplant, which can significantly prolong her life expectancy. This July 2025, she is scheduled for this critical procedure. However, the transplant requires her to relocate to Vancouver for four weeks with a 24/7 caregiver. During this time, she must stay close to the transplant center for daily outpatient monitoring.
After the transplant, my mom will need at least six months off work to recover and rebuild her strength. As you can imagine, the financial burden of this journey is heavy and adds an extra layer of stress during an already challenging time.
We’re reaching out to our community—friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers—for help. Your support will help ease some of that pressure. Funds raised will go directly toward:
Four weeks of accommodation in Vancouver during her transplant
Household bills and living expenses while she recovers at home
Ongoing medical costs not covered by insurance
Travel expenses to Vancouver
If you know my mom, you know she’s someone who always shows up for her family and others with kindness, humility, and compassion. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to providing her with the stability and care she needs to heal. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this campaign—your support in any form means the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
With gratitude,
Maggie and Jacky
