Jennifer O'Kelley has always been the kind of person to help others. Now Jennifer needs our help to get her through this tough time.
Jennifer has done a lot of volunteer work in the rescue world, mainly as a volunteer for PROUD Detroit. She has helped with fundraisers, transported animals, fostered and even adopted a PROUD Detroit dog.
Jennifer came across a homeless woman, whom she was trying to help out. The woman had a dog, who Jennifer took in to keep safe when the woman was unable to. Unfortunately, the dog and Jennifer's dog got into a fight over a bone and Jennifer was injured while attempting to separate them.
Jennifer's injuries required surgery on her hand, a steel pin, multiple nights at the hospital as well as an IV line for home treatment and a visiting nurse. Because the work Jennifer does requires full use of her hands, she will not be able to return for several weeks. With no disability insurance to cover her during this time, it will be a challenging time for her, as a single mom of a seven-year-old.
If you can help out by making a donation to Jennifer to cover not only some of her medical costs, but also to cover her and her daughter for this period while she recuperates, I know that it would be greatly appreciated.
