Summer intensive!!!

My name is Shaya. I am 15 years old and am a ballet dancer. I live with my family of seven  in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. I am the fifth of six children. Being born into a baseball and softball family, I began playing softball when I was 3 years old. It did not take my mother long to figure out that, although I was good at softball, I was different than my siblings. She enrolled me in pre-ballet when I was 5 years old at Saugerties Ballet Center where I have trained ever since. I began dancing for Ulster Ballet Company when I was 11 years old and have participated in three A Christmas Carol performances, as well as, the Festival of Dance at the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston New York. I have also performed at Vanaver at Ulster County Community College.

This February  of this year, I auditioned for NYSSSA (New York State Summer School for the Arts) and made it as an anlternate. Recently nysssa emailed me saying there was an open spot! I was sooo soooo happy:) 

 To my great pleasure, I was chosen to participate! This is a great opportunity for me. This intensive would be the next step to fulfilling my dream of becoming a prima ballerina. Summer ballet intensives are invaluable and, I'm told, necessary in order to become a career ballet dancer. Summer intensives are exactly what it sounds like. It is ballet from dawn until dusk and I would absolutely love that!

I am hoping that, with your help, I will not have to also let this tremendous opportunity pass. Even the smallest donation would be deeply appreciated. In the meantime, I will be working very hard in order to try to raise the balance of the money.
