Hello, my name is Marcos. On August 28th, our lives were shattered by the unexpected and tragic death of my brother, Joel Olea Gomez. My brother was working on a water-system project across from Scripps Ranch High School when the devastating accident occurred. Joel was in a 20-foot-deep trench that collapsed, trapping him beneath a massive concrete pipe and a heavy load of dirt. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the accident claimed Joel’s life at the scene.
Joel was known for his friendly nature and strong work ethic, and his sudden loss has left a profound void in our hearts. He leaves behind his loving family, including his three sisters, his brother, and his parents. As we navigate this unimaginable grief, we are reaching out to our community for support. We hope you can assist us in honoring Joel’s memory and giving him the farewell he deserves.
