Liz's road to recovery

On Monday, October 2, 2017, Elizabeth Cone (Liz as we know her) was in a single car accident.  Around 4:45pm she had left one job and was heading to the next, driving on Highway 27, in Tallahassee, FL.  Liz was on the inside lane and a larger vehicle passed her at a high rate of speed.  Liz tensed and tried to slightly move over when she must have gone off the road and then over corrected.  She crossed the median and over 2 lanes of traffic then collided head on with a pine tree.  Not realizing the extent of her injuries, she stepped out of the car to see her damages, only to fall to the ground.  Later that night in the ER we were told that she has a broken nose, broke her patella (knee cap), and broke her L3 vertebra (this plays an important role in supporting the weight of the torso).   As of now, her prognosis is to be in a back brace for months (<--this is estimation of time is all we know), and be dependent on a walker.

Anyone who knows Liz, knows that she is a hard working young lady that will go above and beyond for anyone else.  Up until Monday evening, she has managed to work 3 jobs, while attending school.  Since she does not work any one job full time, she is not entitled to certain benefits that some of us take for granted such as sick time.  This accident will cause her to be out of work for several weeks if not longer.  2 of the 3 jobs, she may not be able to resume for months, depending on recovery.  We are taking everything one day at a time and recovery is our main focus.

Liz is currently in the hospital and should be transported to rehab center soon.  At the encouragement of my daughters (two of her closet friends) I am setting up this Go Fund Me account to reach out to our community and friends.  Anything collected through this page will pay her monthly living expenses.  Liz and I have worked closely together for a couple years with budgeting, so I know her bills as well as she does.  :-)  Liz has become a part of my  family and I know alot of others as well.  That is evident by the amount people who have reached out the last few days with prayers, love, visits, cards and flowers.  When she moved to town, I am pretty sure she was adopted by all.  Please continue to keep her in your prayers and I will do my best to keep everyone updated.
