As many people already know my father, George Dreitzler, is very sick. He was brought into the ICU unit of St. Joe Hospital on April 1, 2016 after experiencing symptoms of the common flu. Upon admission it was discovered that he had an oxygen level of below 80% (which is critically low for healthy individuals). After 3 days in the ICU the doctors decided that he would need to be put on a ventilator and put him in a drug induced coma.

Through the trails and tribulations of the following week it was decided that his condition was beyond thier expertise. He is suffering from the H1N1 virus that turned into pneumonia and, as a result, both of his lungs eventually collapsed. He was air lifted to Ann Arbor to the University of Michigan Health System on April 11, 2016. Subsequently, he has suffered a major stroke that affected over 80% of the right side of his brain.

Anybody who knows George knows that he is a fighter and a fierce competitor. There is no way he would've made it this long without those traits. Unfortunately my mother, Michele, is left handling everything while we wait for a hopeful outcome. Times are tough and will grow increasingly difficult in the days and months to come. My father is a proud and strong man, but his road to recovery will be a long and strenuous one filled with ups and downs.

He is currently still in the ICU unit of UofM and fighting like a true champion. I'm humbled here to ask for anything that might help so that my mother can remain by his side while he continues this uphill battle.
