W. Charles 'Charlie Chuck' Welch

Life is indeed filled with swift transitions, and it is so unpredictable what tomorrow or even today holds for any of us. 

It is in that vain that I petition your attention to a matter that is pertinent to our community and a brother beloved.

As many of you know Charles "Charlie Chuck" Welch has pioneered the media industry through radio, reaching all genres and transcending generations. His genius characteristic has allowed those without a voice to now have one. His radio station has been a staple in our community for years now, entertaining the populist of Toledo and surrounding areas. He has been stellar in his ability to cross-pollinate cultures and keep them engaged in social, political, religious and current affairs! 

Some of you may not know that he has had some health challenges that has not allowed him to do the incredible work he's done for years, and as any CEO when they are not able to perform, the entire organization tends to take on the deficiencies of the leader! While I believe in the old African proverb, it takes a village to raise a child, I believe it takes a village to sustain the vision of a visionary. Mr. Welch has not been able to keep up with the rigor of running an organization as his with the proficiency he is accustom to. 

As a friend that has the obligation of taking care of our community, I (Suzette Cowell) urge you to join me and several leaders in our community as we organize this arduous task of procuring a foundation of support to this beloved man and show that there are people who care.
