There is nothing worse than watching your child sleep homeless. There is nothing worse than not being able to provide for your child. And there is nothing worse than handing your child over to a situation that you know is not ideal for him, his health, or his happiness. Any mother reading this knows exactly what I am saying. That’s why I am here on GoFundMe. I have nowhere else to turn. I need to turn to you. A little bit about me. My name is Comfort, and I am a single mother. My son, Damien, was born on July 14, 2014 in Washington, D.C. I was with him for 4-years as we lived in Virginia, taking care of him, paying the babysitter, paying rent, and so forth. I ran into a major problem. No one wanted a roommate that has a baby. It was hard for me to pay for a single-family unit, becoming increasingly impossible. I did not have enough credit to apply for an apartment. I decided to do something that was incredibly hard for me. I took Damien to his grandmother in Ghana (West Africa). While there, I would have the time and resources to get settled and find an apartment that we can call home. I thought it would give me the space to work hard to bring my entire family back together, under one roof again. After a few weeks there, I received news that Damien had become very ill. The living conditions in Ghana are too much for him to bear. His immune system is not equipped to battle the viruses and other germs that are native to the continent of Africa. It’s time to bring Damien back home. That’s why I need your help. Through the funds raised with this GoFundMe, I will pray to do the following: ● Secure my own apartment Damien and I can call home: Every child deserves a home that is safe, receptive, and clean. Damien deserves this more than anything, which is why I am working so hard to find an income, credit, and apartment that can start our life anew. ● Pay to fly Damien back to the U.S. where he can permanently reside. It’s not cheap to fly to/from Africa. I need to be able to get my son on a plane and fly him back home to Virginia. He desperately needs the amenities and health care that we have access to in this country.● Provide for my grandmother struggling in the nation of Ghana. My grandmother deserves care and support. She is the matriarch of the family who has stepped up to care for my son when I needed her. She deserves help.● Pay for the healthcare Damien needs to return to proper health. Once Damien returns back to the U.S., I will need to make various doctor’s appointments to ensure his health stabilizes. At such a young age, it’s so important that I am able to do this for him right now. Help me bring Damien and his grandma back home. I just want to give my family the fighting chance that they deserve. I can’t do it without your help.If you don’t have the funds you can spare for this campaign, please consider sharing this to your social media profiles. Any form of publicity will help me make this message go viral. I know at the bottom of everyone’s hearts, they want to do something good. They want to make an impact. I am giving you that chance. If not for me, do it for the young boy who is sick, scared, and separated from his momma in Africa.
Help me bring Damien and his grandma home.
