A Grandmothers Plea

Donation protected
I have struggled with how to approach this with dignity and privacy for my family. It is extremely hard to share difficult moments in the world especially when I seldom ask for help with anything. But for the fact that this involves a 10 and 3 year old I would not be doing this.
My son and his family were homeless for almost 2 months, due in part to bad financial decisions and quite frankly a lot of bad luck. This family is on the low end of finances and both are on disability. They all slept in a truck and a couple nights in a motel (Paid for by family). Our family as a whole is also struggling and we cannot give anymore $$ . Happily they were able to find a new place in southern Alberta and people rallied with one last bit of money to help them settle in and even get some of their possessions' out of storage . Sigh of relief as our 10 year old Granddaughter started school followed by our 3 year old Grandson starting Pre-School. The place they were living offered to hire them to clean and repair the units in the same 4-plex. I thought it seemed too good to be true, but it is a very small town and pretty isolated, so I hoped for the a positive outcome. The Grandkids were happy and the adults were trying to do there best. The road ahead was still going to be hard, but we had hope that with persistence they would get there. Daughter in law is willing to work and clean houses, they both shovelled walks and cleaned yards and are trying to make a life for their kids.
A month into the new place, a rainstorm hit and my fears of "too good to be true" showed itself. The house has major problems and is leaking to the point of fear that the roof will collapse on them (Video of the ceiling leaking I have shared below) . After 2 days of rain, they now have cockroaches in the house. They finally contacted the landlady (who states she is out of the country). Her only comment was to tell them to poke a hole in the ceiling and that she did not think her insurance would cover this. She is no longer answering her phone, clearly a call to the board of health as well as the landlord and tenant's act is in the process, but this will not solve anything for this family and very shortly they will be homeless again.
The distress for everyone is heartbreaking. Not only do they have to move again, but now they have to come up with more $$ for First and Last. Add to that they still have things in storage and are behind on other bills. I am beyond distressed and cannot do more than attempt a go fund me for these kids. I do not want them to know this attempt at fundraising as if it fails they will be none the wiser. Also I can oversee this if it does succeed and help in smaller portions as needed. As a Mother/Grandmother I am hoping to help these kids.
If you have read this to this point thank you for your time!
