We are a band called The Dreamboats from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. If you’re a fan of ours, or even just a lover of good ol' fashioned rock & roll, we’re humbly asking for your support. The past few years have been hard on everyone, and the Canadian music industry has been no exception. As COVID hit and lockdown measures were implemented, we found ourselves quickly losing resources, opportunities and morale. Gigs were all cancelled, and the entertainment industry in Canada was reaching crushing lows.
It was during these brutal, unprecedented times that we decided to be bolder than ever. We decided to move to California, leaving our lives in Canada for brighter horizons.
This has been a real challenge for us. We've left our family, friends and entire support system behind us in order to forge a brighter future in tough times. We drove across North America towing all of the gear we could fit in our small trailer, and have landed in the high desert town of Joshua Tree, California where the four of us are sharing a house together. It’s from this house that we are working hard, utilizing all of our resources, and constantly strategizing ways to make this endeavour a successful one. We are trying to grow our career to new heights, while keeping our love of rock & roll alive and well as we navigate through this new phase of the band, and our lives.
Here in California, a place with such a rich history in entertainment, we’re determined to thrive and make The Dreamboats a household name. With an abundance of festivals, iconic venues, and unique opportunities, we will continue to carry the torch in honor of live rock & roll for a new generation to discover. We carry with us the personal support and endorsements of both family and friends, as well as several of our rock n' roll heroes, including the legendary Ronnie Hawkins, Chan Romero, and Robbie Lane.
That being said, we need some help.
We’re typically humble people, and we don’t relish in asking for support like this. We’ve always prided ourselves on making things work in the past through our determination and commitment, but this unprecedented time has left us looking for unprecedented solutions. A lot of people have expressed a desire to support and contribute to our band over the years, and now that we’re taking this giant risk, we’re finally reaching out and looking for any contribution you might be willing to offer. With your help, we can endure this very tough transitional period.
As this adventure unfolds with the support of you and other donors, we will be documenting this entire journey through regular Youtube releases and on our various social media platforms. Donors will be able to see the fruits of their support, as we chronicle every step of this bold, new journey. Interviews, backstage, behind-the-scenes, personal discussions and more will all be regularly documented for you to see. Here is a link to the first episode
The money raised through these donations will go towards our living expenses, promotional resources, and monthly fees. Your donation will enable us to stay afloat for these crucial first few months as we work hard to secure future gigs.
Additionally, any public donors who have helped us out will have the option of being thanked on our website under a new “supporters” page, if they desire. This is a way we want to express our perpetual gratitude for anyone who helps us on our journey.
Much love and thanks goes out to the live music community, concert-goers, and all of the people who have supported the band past and present. It's because of you that we are able to take risks, dream big, and follow our hearts. Any help is truly appreciated. Long live rock & roll!
