My Gap Year

On September 18th, God willing, I will fly to San Jose, Costa Rica for my gap year. For the first three months I will be living and working unpaid with one of Jose's closest friends, Carlos. He and his mother manage a soccer manufacturing and wholesale business in Costa Rica that sells to retailers like Walmart. There, I will gain valuable business experience that will help me prepare to study Business at Georgetown University in the Fall of 2018. It also combines 3 of my passions: soccer, Spanish and Business. Also during this time, I may volunteer with a ministry that Jose was a part of named Royal Rangers. In December, I will return home for Christmas. In the beginning of January, I will return to Costa Rica to volunteer at an overnight Christian camp in Heredia, Costa Rica called Campamento Roblealto. Here, I will serve in a variety of ways such as working in the kitchen, running camp activities and playing with the kids. Finally, I will head to Nicaragua where I will volunteer at a variety of ministries in the capital city of Managua. I hope to serve at an After School Sports Center, a center for kids with Special Needs and a home for at-risk youth. I will return home at the end March.

Your generous donations will go towards housing, food, transportation and miscellaneous living expenses for my six months out of the country.
