Mom of 6 Special Needs kids requires home repairs

Donation protected

Do you know a special needs child or adult? Do you know their care giver? We’d like to introduce you to a phenomenal woman.

To know Jean Henry is to recognize her amazing empathy and ability to always have a humorous response in almost any situation. This 1978 graduate of Northmont High has spent her entire life working with medically fragile children. Jean has adopted 6 developmentally delayed children since 1981. As a single mom and a home health care private duty nurse she works around the clock to provide care for the 4 kids that are still at home…this is an incredible task and she is quite a woman.

Jean does an amazing job juggling medicines, special diets all while having the kids participate in any activities that aid them to establish their social skills. The kids:  Angi – 43, Maricela 22, Becky – 21 Mikey – 17 and Levi – 14 mean the world to Jean. Arielle who is 30 now holds a management job and lives on her own. This mom goes above and beyond to make sure the kids have access to their biological family members whenever they can.

Most of us are concerned with the pandemic…when we can get to the beauty shop or head out to a restaurant again. Jean’s concerns are real and it means she is working daily to protect her family. This delicate group depends on her for all their needs. As Dr Anthony Fauci director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases states: “it’s our responsibility to protect the vulnerable," and Jean lives this manta every moment of her life.

Now Jean could use everyone’s help. Her home in Union, Ohio is in dire need of work on the inside and out. The City of Union is requiring repairs be made on her modest property and the funds just aren’t there.

At this time her high school classmates have a plan to reach out and get this update on the move. The three of us have formed a team to raise enough to get the repairs on Jean’s home done. While this is a daunting task we believe it can be accomplished by reaching out to the community.

We have initiated this Our GoFundMe campaign to request local help with donations  and building materials. The estimate of $40,000 is a huge amount to acquire but we are confident!

Our team includes Dave Morgan and he will be spearheading the rehab. His years of flipping make him the perfect person to “get the work done”

We are certain the community will support us and hope they can lead us to some ideas, programs and people that will make this plan turn into reality!

Jean is rich with friends that are there for her. We hoping you can join the brigade and make this happen.

Sincerely,

Becky Stevens, Dave Morgan and Jill Sanders
