Amie Cochran Hartje & Baby Elijah

On Wednesday, July 11th, Amie's water broke at 23 weeks, 6 days gestation. (Borderline Viablitity of survival for a fetus).  She was rushed to Henry Mayo hospital where she was stabilized and then transferred to County USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.  The prognosis for baby Elijah was not positive and Amie was informed by the doctors that he may not survive unless they could keep her pregnant. On Monday, July 16th, baby Elijah's heart rate dropped and Amie was rushed to the Operating Room for delivery.  With the help of some prayers from family little baby Elijah got his heart rate back up and they opted not to deliver only minutes before they would have done the C-Section.  At this point, Elijah has hit the 25 week mark and each day that he stays inside mommy will help him as soon as God decides to bring him into this world.  The doctors are hoping to keep Amie in the hospital for another 9 weeks and then deliver.  With that being said, Amie does have a good insurance plan, although there will definately be some out of pocket costs that her family will simply be unable to pay.  This is where we ask for the help of all her friends and family to donate whatever you can to help cover her medical bills when this is all said and done.  Thank you and God Bless!!
