In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 30, 2015, Officer Corey Owens was directing traffic around a flooded road in Lubbock, Tx. He had positioned his marked police vehicle, a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria, in the westbound lanes of 4th Street with the emergency lighting activated. He was standing just west of his vehicle when a drunk driver struck his vehicle. The impact caused the marked unit to collide with Officer Owens. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Medical Center. Officer Owens and his wife, Felicia, have two young boys, Colsyn & Cardyn. We would like to ask our blue family to help support another as they will be facing a long road and life changing road to recovery.
