Erin Bonnie - 42yr old mother of three daughters from Minnesota. 

In January my mom, Erin, was driving home on 35 South. Due to the severe snowfall and ice on the roads, she was in a devasting car accident. She was hit by a semi-truck that pushed her into the back of a flat bed truck. Her vehicle was completely destroyed. My mom was very lucky, the doctors said if she had been an inch in any direction from where she was sitting, she may not have made it.   

This luck, however, did not save her from some very serious injuries. She was impaled by a piece of metal from the truck, she had a collapsed lung, fractured and broken ribs, a fractured scapula, small spine fractures. The wound from the piece of metal was stitched very poorly which led to the stitches being taken out, and her family having to clean and pack a gaping, four-inch long wound on her back every day.  

My mom stayed at her sister's place instead of home because, it was closer to doctors appointments, and more people to tend to her back. Erin has a loving and supportive family but was unable to work due to her injuries and PTSD nightmares. My mom's injuries were healing well, and though some of them were far from completely healed she was starting to feel better. Things seemed as though they were looking up, although she was still in pain on daily bases.  

In late April, my mom discovered a lump in her breast and just when she thought things were getting better they got worse. After mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsy, and MRI's the result were 2 masses of grade three cancer, the most aggressive grade, in stage 2. In July my mom was back in the hospital for a bi-lateral masectomy and several more procedures as she prepares for at least 6 months of chemotherapy.

My mom, my sisters, and I desperately need financial help just to cover the cost of living, transportation, and the bare necessities such as food, and shelter.   Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read my mother's story Anything helps, thoughts and prayers appreciated greatly.
