Hurricane Maria Aftermath

On Spetember 20th, Hurricane Maria entered the island of Puerto Rico. Within 24 hours, it managed to leave 100% of the population without electricity and 95% without any type of communication. As you've probably seen in the news, the island was left completely destroyed and will most likely be like this for months. It has been estimated that it will take 4-6 months to have electricity restored. Currently, gas stations are only allowing the government to buy gas, since there are very few left. Also, there are only 25 stores open to buy food and supplies.

A year ago, I decided to move from of the island to pursue a better future and eventually get my family to come with me. When I first found out about the Hurricane, I immediately called my family to make sure they had everything they needed in case they couldn't get out of their houses due to damages caused by the huricane. Now, it has been 48hrs since I last talked to my family and although I am praying for them to be safe, I don't know if they have enough food and water for the next few weeks. I have tried calling my family but I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone.

My mother, before airlines raised their prices after this catastrofic event, had booked a flight to go see my brother. Now, she will be using this flight to go and find out if our family is safe and see what conditions our houses are in. She will be going to Puerto Rico on September 29th to take our family the necessary items and food that they will need to be able to sustain each other while the island gets back on their feet. I created this campaign with her account information so she can buy water and canned food for my family with the money I raise. I'm not asking for much, but I would greatly appreciate if you could help us provide our family.
