~ About the Project ~
Fall Break ‘18 is a love letter to the film-culture of the 1980’s from creators Tristan Peach, Jessica Johns and Brad A. Kinnan. Inspired by it all; from the music, to the fashion, and of course, the movies. Everything from John Hughes to Jason Voorhees. Unforgettable classics to the schlockiest, “so bad it’s good,” B-movie hidden treasures.
The most important ingredients to these films of the era, wether that be creature or gore, is arguably the SFX.
Keeping to the 80’s tradition, we are committing to making our film as authentic and special as it can by using as much practical effects as possible.
Our little production has been fortunate enough to work with a giant of the industry, legendary special effects wizard Dwight Roberts . (New Nightmare, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Gremlins 2.) He has created a terrifying, disturbing creature sure to give you sleepless nights. We’re also displaying some incredible, disgusting body horror gore with the help of up and coming talent Sophia Aguayo .
They’re our “ace in the hole” and without them, we have nothing and we can’t wait to show you what they’ve accomplished.
The other key element of creating any great homage to the 80’s cinema is the music. It seemed every great (and not so great) 80’s horror flick had a killer, synth-heavy, pop soundtrack and we won’t be any different. With the help of some of today’s top Synthwave artists (Ollie Wride , Michael Oakley, Coleurs , The New Division , Missing Words) our soundtrack and original score will take you back to to the 80’s like a flying Delorean only could.
It’ll be a “totally rad” soundtrack that you’ll listen to over and over again.
What started as a crazy idea has now become a crazy reality, and part of that crazy reality is finding a way to pay for everything.
That’s why we are coming to you. We have been, up to this point, completely self- financed and as our expenses and team keep growing, our budget hasn’t been able to keep up.
We’re asking for your help to pay for filming and all the expenses that come with.
We truly appreciate any and all help you give us because we’re making this a fun, thrilling watch, not just for us, but for everyone. So, thank you for your time and reading our plea.
If you are willing to give and support us, no matter the amount, we will thank you from the bottom of our broke artists’ hearts by giving you a special shout out in the credits to officially welcome you to our productions’ family.
