50 31 Challenge for Brain Tumour Foundation
Hi, my name is Jess and I'm raising money for a donation to the National Brain Tumour Society.
My dad was recently diagnosed with a benign brain tumour. I thank the world every day it is benign and he has good odds. Thinking about the possibilities are scary, and I feel for anyone who is affected by this in a worse way than we are.
My dad is so caring, always thinking of others, and really is the kindest person I know. I can't put into words how good of a person he is. Even through this scary diagnosis, he is the same cheerful, smiley, caring, funny dad I love.
This Father's Day I want to show him that his strength and positive attitude don't go unnoticed or unappreciated. I wasn't sure how to do that and then I came across the 50/31 challenge. This fundraiser challenges participants to run 50 miles (80km) in the 31 days of May. This will be quite a push for me to complete for two reasons: 1. I hate running and I haven't gone for a run in over a year & 2. I saw this challenge on May 8th, so I need to complete it in 3/4 of the time. But I am going to give it my best shot, and hopefully, by the end of May be able to give my Dad an early Father's Day gift showcasing how much he is in our thoughts.
If you have already read this far, thank you. If you choose to donate even a couple of dollars, just know how much I appreciate it.
I will be out there running my butt off pushing myself for this cause, and I hope I have your support because I will need it!
Jess
UPDATE MAY 31st:
80.61km complete just in time!
Huge thank you to everyone who donated and showed support, I have been blown away by the amount we have raised and all the kind messages! It means the world to me, pushed me, and I can’t wait to show him!
