United Against Coronavirus

The world right now is facing a challenging time. Health care professionals are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Vidhi Fundación is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the health care community address the COVID-19 epidemic and associated supply chain shortages with 3D printing technology.

The Vidhi Support Network is an initiative to match healthcare organizations and medical device providers with supporters who are willing to dedicate their time, knowledge, and resources to help address critical supply chain shortages and other healthcare needs. We are working closely with health systems, government agencies, and our volunteer network to help design, prototype, and produce parts to be tested and potentially adopted by clinicians.

The Vidhi Care Packages is an initiative to generate funds to directly reinvest in meeting community needs. A care package consists of food, medicine, and toiletries. We’re asking you to contribute to providing sustenance and comfort directly to those at risk.

How is Vidhi Fundación helping make a difference?

We currently have eight 3D printers (FDM & SLA) running day and night to fabricate parts for ventilators and safety gear for medical professionals. These include venturi valves, connectors to decathlon masks modded into breathing masks and face shields. It takes around 3 hours to print a part, and another 3 hours for post-processing, sanitizing and curing the part with UV.

Besides these items of which hospitals are in dire need, we are contributing to research and development of other necessary items and working of a field ventilator design.

How can I contribute to Vidhi Support Network / Vidhi Care Packages?

Vidhi Fundación collaborates with many hardware projects that seek to address global healthcare-related supply shortages. We are reaching out to our incredible community to connect those in need with those who have engineering, clinical, and 3D printing resources to offer.

You can simply make a donation through our GoFundMe campaign or  buy and ship us one of the following items (contact us for address)

- Materials for 3D printing (PLA/ABS/TPU Spools & SLA/DLP resin).
- FDM & SLA 3D printers. We have space to set up 20 more printers.

If you would like to donate to us the materials required, please click here for the details and the corresponding Amazon ESP links.

Community needs amplify in crisis. With increased demand and a limited resource network, we know we won’t be able to meet our community’s needs alone. If you are a nonprofit organization providing meals to at-risk members of our community, or you operate a restaurant in Spain and are looking to get involved, please contact us at [email redacted].

Other ways you can help

We recognize that the impact of COVID-19 is far-reaching. If you are unable to financially contribute, there are ways you can help us in reaching our goal.  We are also open to other ideas, insights and projects that can help make a difference. Get in touch with us, and together we evaluate how you can help make a difference.

- Share this campaign through your social media networks.
- Help us grow our resource network by connecting us with hospitals, community organizations, and restaurants interested in serving meals to community members at risk.
- Contribute by 3D printing the parts yourself.
- Help us with product engineering of field ventilators.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has created one of the most difficult moments in world history, a moment we will surely look back on. Here is your chance to contribute to the story of humanity. So that when our future generations read about this, they know that we came together as people. To feel proud that we lifted each other up.

We will regularly keep updating this page with details of every objective met. Stay tuned!

1. Since before our launch on the 22nd of March, 2020, we have dedicated all our time, effort, and resources to research and development of our 3D printed products. Designing, prototyping, sampling, re-designing and adapting to make sure that they are of the highest grade and quality.

2. Alongside, we have been connecting with hospitals and other organizations, prioritising the current needs and planning and strategising how to overcome these challenges. Photos and testimonies will soon be uploaded to our Facebook page.

3. April 1, 2020: "Thanks a million! We have just finished assembling the 3D printed parts you sent to us on Monday... after sterilizing them.", Dr Soledad Alonso Viteri, of Hospital Universitario de Torrejón.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How will the funds be used?

60% of the funds will go directly to facilitating the purchase and delivery of 3D printing materials and other urgent Personal Protective Equipment for frontline healthcare workers in Spain.

40% of the funds will be used to buy food, medicine, toiletries and other necessary supplies for communities at risk.

Our entire leadership team is donating their time and have foregone compensation for their work. No one on the leadership team for United Against Coronavirus is benefiting financially in any way from this campaign.

2. Why aren’t the hospitals & government ordering these pieces of equipment directly?

Hospitals, as well as government agencies, are trying their best to procure healthcare-related equipment. However, due to supply chain limitations and global competition, they are currently experiencing extreme shortages.

3. How are you distributing the equipment?

We will be personally hand-delivering the equipment and other supplies to frontline medical workers at their hospitals and other communities so that they get into the right hands.

4. Are donations tax-deductible?

Currently, donations are not tax-deductible. If you know of a tax-exempt charitable organization in this space that would like to sponsor our effort, we would be delighted to partner with them. Until then, we have realized that the need is so urgent that we must move forward and hope that you will donate.

5. I am a healthcare professional at a hospital that is currently treating COVID-19 patients. How do we request support?
