seit dem 19.09.2021 spuckt der Vulkan auf La Palma Asche und Lava. Die Insel befindet sich in einer äußerst kritischen Situation. Der Vulkan kommt nicht zur Ruhe. Erdbeben, schlechte Luft und Lava, die die Existenzen vieler Familien zerstört, sind die Folge. Mittlerweile sind fast 2000 Häuser unbewohnbar, über 10.000 Menschen wurden evakuiert.
Seit dem Ausbruch stößt der Vulkan immer wieder riesige Rauchwolken aus. Experten rechnen damit, dass er noch für Wochen oder sogar Monate aktiv bleibt.
Ich möchte hiermit einen Spendenaufruf für die Menschen, die vom Vulkanausbruch auf La Palma am meisten betroffen sind ins Leben rufen. Es sind Menschen, die alles verloren haben. Hier auf La Palma ist es üblich, dass man die Grundstücke über Generationen hinweg weitergegeben werden. D.h. es gibt Familien, die ihre kompletten Existenzen verloren haben und die Zukunft ihrer Familien in Gefahr sind, da man auf Lava durchzogen Böden erstmals nicht mehr Bauen kann. Die Gelder, die vom spanischen Staat zur Verfügung gestellt werden reichen bei weitem nicht aus.
Birgit Gaggstatter wird sich Vorort um alles weitere kümmern. Momentan versorgt sie AufräumarbeiterInnen und Freiwillige mit Essen und trinken, möchte aber mehr tun. Das Geld, welches ihr spendet soll Familien zugute kommen, sowie Projekten wie Wiederaufbau von Kindergärten und Spielplätzen, die auch unter den Lavaströmen begraben wurden. Gerne halte ich Euch auf dem Laufenden, wo das Geld hinfließt. Birgit ist die beste Freundin meiner Mutter, lebt seit 27 Jahren auf La Palma, hat dort in der Gastronomie gearbeitet, ist Coach und Übersetzerin und hat zusammen mit ihrem Mann, Robert mit Jugendlichen gearbeitet, die Schwierigkeiten mit dem Gesetz hatten und die nach La Palma gehen durften für ein sogenanntes Reset. Die beiden sind herzensgute Menschen und deshalb möchte ich Ihnen helfen, anderen zu helfen. Auch ich habe einen starken emotionalen Bezug zu La Palma, da ich meine halbe Kindheit auf dieser wunderschönen, Normalerweisen grünen Insel verbringen durfte.

Dear family, friends, acquaintances and strangers,
since 19.09.2021 the volcano on La Palma has been spewing ash and lava. The island is in an extremely critical situation. The volcano does not come to rest. Earthquakes, bad air and lava that destroys the livelihoods of many families are the result. Meanwhile, almost 2000 houses are uninhabitable, more than 10,000 people have been evacuated.
Since the eruption, the volcano has repeatedly emitted huge clouds of smoke and ashes. Experts expect it to remain active for weeks or even months.
I would like to launch an appeal for donations for the people who are most affected by the volcanic eruption on La Palma. They are people who have lost everything. Here on La Palma, it is common to pass on properties through generations. That means that there are families who have lost their entwirre livelihoods and the future of their families are in danger, because for you can no longer build on lava-soaked soil. The funds provided by the Spanish state are far from sufficient.
Birgit Gaggstatter will take care of everything else on site. At the moment she is helping providing food and drinks to cleanup workers and official volunteers, but she wants to do more. The money you donate will go to families and projects like rebuilding kindergartens and playgrounds that were also buried under the lava flows. I will be happy to keep you posted on where the money goes. Birgit is my mother's best friend, has lived on La Palma for 27 years, has worked there in restaurant business, is a coach and translator and together with her husband, Robert has worked with young people who were in trouble with the law and were allowed to go to La Palma for a so-called reset. They are both good-hearted people and that is why I want to help you help others. I also have a strong emotional connection to La Palma, as I was allowed to spend half of my childhood on this beautiful, normally green island.

Desde el pasado día 19 de septiembre el volcán no ha parado de arrojar lava y ceniza dejando a la isla en una situación muy crítica.
El volcán no cesa su actividad después de 50 días expulsando ceniza y azufre, los terremotos continúan y la lava, ha destruido los hogares y el medio de vida de muchísimas familias de la zona. Los expertos insisten en que permanecerá activo varías semanas o incluso, meses….
Mientras tanto, a día de hoy hay 2095 personas afectadas por haber perdido sus viviendas y más de 10.000 personas evacuadas.
Me gustaría hacer un llamamiento para que la gente se solidarice con esta situación tan difícil y aporte su granito de arena ayudando a las personas más afectadas por la erupción volcánica realizando donaciones. Han perdido todo, su hogar, su historia, su barrio, todo. En nuestra isla de La Palma es habitual que la tierra se transmita de generación en generación lo cual ha supuesto que muchas de estas familias lo hayan pedido todo, su futuro ahora mismo está lleno de oscuridad e incertidumbre u lo único que tienen claro es que ya no podrán volver a construir en sus terrenos cubiertos hoy, por capas y capas de lava. El dinero aportado por el Gobierno español, el Autonómico e incluso del Cabildo insular no es suficiente para la reconstrucción y existen dudas de cuándo empezarán a llegar dichas ayudas.
Los palmeros necesitan todo el apoyo económico posible para poder comenzar de nuevo. Birgit Gaggstatter contribuye ayudando a proporcionar comida y bebida a los Cuerpos de Seguridad del estado y a los voluntarios oficiales, pero quiere hacer más. El dinero que dones se destinará a las familias y a proyectos como la reconstrucción de parques infantiles u otras instalaciones que también quedaron sepultados bajo las coladas de lava. Birgit se encargará in situ de lo demás y estará encantada de mantenerte informado acerca del destino del dinero que hayas aportado a esta causa. Birgit, es la mejor amiga de mi madre, vive en La Palma desde hace 27 años, ha trabajado allí en el sector de la hostelería, es Coach y traductora y, junto con su marido Robert, ha trabajado con jóvenes que tenían problemas con la ley y a los que se les permitía ir a La Palma para una posible reeducación y/o reinicio. Ambos, son personas de gran corazón y por eso quiero ayudarles a ayudar a los demás. Además, me une un vínculo emocional muy fuerte con La Palma ya que pasé la mitad de mi infancia en esta hermosa y verde isla.
