<div>My small family of 3 is struggling to get our feet on the ground. In the last year and a half we’ve been living out of a hotel, living with my mother that kept half of every paycheck we got, and now we live in an abusive household (that being the family of my girlfriend/the mother of my child). Her father is a loud, angry drunk that wants to have everyone under his thumb. If he is pressed even slightly he lashes out and threatens to kick everyone out, send his wife to a mental home, and kick the cat outside. He’s explosive, if anyone tries to walk away to diffuse the situation he will follow them and continue yelling and barging into their rooms. He’s physically hurt her mother was in the past and has even had the police called on him. He is never sober, he drinks CONSTANTLY, even while on the road he has multiple cans and bottles of vodka in the truck and drinks them actively. He is constantly looking at porn on his phone even in front of his grandson, who he holds in his lap. And because of his controlling nature, he will not allow my girlfriend to get a job to help us save to move out on our own. I am the only one working and I just barely took on a manager position, which is making me significantly less than I expected. I am making only 14.75 an hour, working over 40 hours a week. My checks are barely enough to get us by, let alone save for a home ALONE. We’re desperate to get out of this unsafe and uncomfortable environment.
