Hi,
My name is Kathyn but most people call me Kat. I have contemplated doing this fundraising for a while now but it’s hard to ask for help with something so personal. My wife Sandi and I have been trying to have a baby since 2022. Since then I have gone through 9 unsuccessful IUI’s, gone through a laparoscopic surgery where I was diagnosed with endometriosis on top of already having polycystic ovarian syndrome, spent tens of thousands of dollars on sperm and medications, and have put my body through so many procedures and treatments to try and conceive. Over the last few months I have tried to take a break and think about letting go of our dream to be parents but I just can’t seem to give this up without at least trying IVF. However, IVF is extremely expensive and not available in Newfoundland and the government only offers a $5,000 subsidy. Any amounts we receive through this fundraiser will go directly to the cost of the procedure and medications, as well as travel costs like airfare, accommodations and meals with any remaining amounts being donated to a local women’s shelter in St. John’s. I know finances are hard for a lot of people right now so any amount donated is extremely appreciated by us. If anyone personally knows Sandi and I you know how much love we have for each other and how much love we have to give. So thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for thinking of us and supporting us on this final chapter of our fertility journey.
