There is no greater love than that between a parent and child. Al and Lynn LaPrade were blessed with their first child on May 23, 2017. Sadly, today Charlie is clinging to his very fragile and very challenging life.
Early in their pregnancy, the LaPrades learned that Charlie was diagnosed with Trisomy 18. Charlie came into this world in only 33 weeks and it has been a challenge for this small family ever since. Last week, Charlie was moved from Forsyth Hospital to Brenner's Children's Hospital in hopes to give him the best care, and best chance of survival. Over the past few days, Charlie's condition has been deteriorating, and we continue to pray for him.
I have set up this Gofundme page in an effort to help the LaPrades offset the mounting medical bills and any further arrangements that may arise. They do have insurance, but it is unclear on what will and will not be covered, not to mention meeting two separate deductibles in 2016 and 2017. I've set the goal at $20,000 not really knowing what it will take. I just think this is a good place to start. Any funds that remain outside of Charlie's needs will be donated on behalf of the LaPrade family to a charity of their choosing.
