Update: It is with great sadness we inform supporters that Paramedic Paul Johnson, a beloved member of the Suprise Fire-Medical Department, passed away from his battle with cancer on November 21st. Paul is survived by his wife Bre and his three children, sons Ryland (11) and Dylan (9), and daughter Irelyn (6). Please consider supporting Paul's family during this extremely difficult time.

Hello, I am reaching out on behalf of the Surprise Fire-Medical Member Services family to support colleague, friend, brother, and amazing person Paul Johnson, and his family.

Paul is an exceptional paramedic who has cared for others for more than 18 years in EMS. When the calls are stressful and seconds count, Paul is the paramedic you want to see on scene. His positive attitude, team mindset, and advocacy for patients is unmatched. Paul is genuine, trustworthy, and a man of great character and humility. He has always been a person who looks to see the good in others but most importantly, Paul is family focused. He is an amazing father and husband and is dedicated to his wife Bre, sons Ryland (11) and Dylan (9), and daughter Irelyn (6).

Recently, an episode of epigastric pain sent Paul to the emergency room, a CT discovered suspicious tumors in his liver. This finding led Paul to be diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer that has metastasized (Stage 4). The department and its membership are rallying to meet Paul's work and healthcare needs, but with this life altering diagnosis, we would also like to give Paul the ability to spend as much time as possible with his family.

Paul has just started chemo and no donation is too small. In the moments Paul feels well enough, this extra reserve will allow them to spend quality time together as they see fit.
