Hi im Susan and im taking part in the sheffield 10 k Sunday 28th September 2025 for a charity close to my heart
I know lots of people Family and close friends who have suffered from Cancer a very dear friend of mine Lorraine Kitchin did she was 1 of the strongest people i know never letting it get in her way always smiling even on her toughest days Lorraine is 1 of the kindest people i know shes always puts other people first throughout her battle with cancer she still did her job that she loves a slimming world coach helping others to achieve their dreams after her first week on ding dong round 1 Chemotherapy she ran a half marathon she is a superstar never let cancer get in her way always smiling and been so positive when she just really wanted to crawl into bed and stay there. However between the good and bad days she still did as much as she could she would go to her chemo sessions and do her slimming world work sleeping inbetween knowing that tomorrow she would feel rough
Fast forward she actually rang the bell tears streaming down my face as i cried Lori you have beaten CANCER. Do you think she rested not a chance the following weekend she did a half marathon in Manchester she did feel rough but she did it and raised funds for Weston Park
Lori in a word is wonderwoman she kept herself fit and healty throughout all her treatment and always smiled and said im ok but deep down i knew she wasnt
Im soooo proud that i can say with a big smile Lorraine Kitchin my friend beat CANCER
Also if i in my own miniscule fundraising capacity mixed with the large volumes of many othersthen hopefully 1 day we can see an end to this dreadful disease that picks and takes people at random
