Zimbabwe Mission Trip
Donation protected
This charity has been created as a response to the dire circumstances in Zimbabwe, which has left vast numbers in society without resources to make changes to their community. 100% unemployment is not something that we can truly grasp in today's Britain, but in areas of Zimbabwe this has become the norm. The volunteers at Pamushana-Emthunzini will be teaching, advising and working with women and children to build a better life for themselves and their community; to offer an alternative to a seemingly hopeless situation, where people can help people to grow in strength and understanding, to create an infrastructure which will protect and respect everyone. The practicalities are simple: to set up a living and training space, where the women of the community can be taught new vocational skills, self-sufficiency, employability - whilst at the other end of the scale, sponsorship to set up schools and a feeding programme for those without any means such as the very elderly.
Teams travel to Zimbabwe at various times of the year, each with a different focus for a two (2) week period. Team members use their life experience, talents and trade to make a difference to the lives of others. Team projects include building, painting, health education, sports, social entrepreneurship, community work, play therapy
