Helping fellow Veterans

Donation protected
I am a 26 year retired Marine Corps 100% Disabled Veteran. I retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) May 2018. During my years with the VA I had the opportunity to work in two of the three departments the VA has, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). While working in these two departments I learned about the VA, how it did the medical side and also how it did the benefits (claims mostly). I learned about things that VA employees never had an opportunity to fully inform the Veteran, not that they VA employee did not want to inform the Veteran about but due to the time constraints put on every VA employee in the VBA. I argued with my superiors many times that because of these time constraints, valuable information was not being passed on to the Veterans. I left the VA so that I could drop those chains and do what I do best, helping my fellow Veterans with no restrictions placed on me. I was a Veterans Service Representative (VSR) where I actually worked on claims. I had the honor to work with some of the greatest caring, intelligent individuals in the VA from the Director to the file clerks at the VBA Regional Office Indianapolis, Indiana, where claims were processed as quickly and correctly as possible. From Indianapolis I went to one of the VA Call Centers in Salt Lake City, where again outstanding individuals tirelessly worked to ensure that every call was done as quickly and correctly as possible . In both cities I witnessed far too many times where the representatives had to either meet a target of so many claims a day were completed or so many calls had to be completed. Again, because of these time constraints valuable information was missed. Since my retirement I have been going from my home in Las Vegas to see and go one on one with no time clocks to Veterans here, Utah, Arizona, Southern California, and Hawaii, answering, assisting, doing anything I can to help my fellow Veterans. I have been using my car to drive to all these locations (of course with the exception of Hawaii) paying for my gas and maintenance on my car, food and lodging. I have been thanked by every Veteran I have assisted, names, phone numbers which I can provide, some in tears for caring and helping them out. Well there it is, a quick rundown of what I have been doing. I am asking for anything people can help me with so that I can continue to help my fellow Veterans. If you cannot help financially then please say a little prayer for me as I try to help every Veteran I can help.
