<div>My mom has always been an extremely hard-working, determined woman. She has worked in the salon industry for over 20 years. She owned her salon called Alternative Salon in Hastings MN and has been with Sport Clips since it opened in Rosemount MN. She loves doing what she loves and helping people look their best and love how they look. Along with working hard in her industry she also put a lot into raising me into the man I am today, teaching me right from wrong and showing me how to be an amazing parent.

<div>Along with being a busy working mom, she has battled various forms of cancer such as cervical and skin in the past. But, in the middle of May, Melissa went in for her typical physical she has every six months. During her appointment, the doctors informed her that her blood work was showing her liver enzymes were off the charts. They then scheduled her for a liver biopsy on July 7th to see what was causing her liver numbers to be coming back so high. They were worried about it being an autoimmune disease, cancer, or liver failure. On July 11th, the doctor's office called back and informed her that she currently is in stage 3 cirrhosis of the liver. Most likely from all the medications she has been on in the past along with beating multiple forms of cancer.

<div>My mom is such a kind and caring person to everyone she knows. Always doing whatever she can to help me grow up and still during adulthood she continues to help me and my kids, being such an amazing grandparent. She is loved so very much by not only me but all three of her grandchildren.

<div>We are still waiting to hear back from the doctors on what her next steps are, but it looks like a transplant is the only option. It will be a long and expensive road ahead with medical expenses that her insurance will not cover. We are asking for support with these things. All that I want to be able to do now is help her with this and we appreciate everyone taking a moment to read this and your support for her.
