The Beard Congregational Church was established in 1912 by the forward thinking of Robert and Frances Dozier who many of us were either impacted through Dozier Elementary or through our strong family ancestry.  From 1912-1941 the church served as the school for African American children in Erath, La.  The church is now in the final phases of becoming listed in the National Registry of Historical places.  This fund is to help purchase and install the historical sign that wil be placed in front of the church.
