Ghana: Foundations of Global Health

Hi friends and family,
As some of you may know, I'm in school working towards my degree in nursing. With this degree, I plan on joining the Peace Corps (https://www.peacecorps.gov) which has been a childhood dream of mine. Fortunately, I got accepted into a program that lets me experience this next summer. The program is called Ghana: Foundations of Global Health (https://www.experiencegla.com/destinations/programs-africa/ghana/ghana-building-healthy-villages/).

I will be volunteering in small village in Ghana, shadowing community nurses as they provide maternal health services to rural families, help construct composting toilet for families in need, learn about women’s health and social issues, help tutor children in local schools and more. Most of the money I make commercial fishing is saved up for college and this program is something I can't afford all on my own. The total cost of this trip will be around $5600, including airfare and some spending money. I’m trying to raise $3600 and cover the rest with my income. Which is why I'm reaching out for your help. I am very passionate about traveling and volunteering and being able to start my path earlier is something I not only cherish, but feel exceptionality lucky about.
