Volunteering in Nicaragua + School

Donation protected
Hi Family + Friends!

As many of you know, I have been on quite the journey since I graduated college almost 5 (yes, five!?) years ago. I've worked in multiple industries trying to find what really excites me. I've been certified in Holistic Nutrition and yoga as well. All I've ever really known is that I want to live my most vibrant and energized life while improving the lives of others, and I try to keep these ideas at the forefront of my mind every single day.

After years of self-exploration and drastic lifestyle changes that promote healing from within, both physically and spiritually, I have finally decided that it's time to take a leap of faith. It's time to take action on something I've always wanted to do.

So, I took the plunge and booked a volunteer trip to Nicaragua for September 7th-21st. I will spend one week working in a "collaborative hostel" where travelers work together and bring their unique gifts to run a sustainable, welcoming, healthy community. I am SO excited to experience a drastically different lifestyle where everyone contributes and works together toward a common goal.

The second week will be spent with a group called Journey. We will be building homes  alongside local volunteers and the families who will receive these homes, and there will be an "integration" portion of the trip where we attend workshops centered on giving back, social impact and personal development.

I've been saying that I want to do something like this- travel, explore, learn, grow, give back- for SO long. Money has basically always been the same, with a few ups and downs, but I've realized that if I want something badly enough, I can make it happen.

When I'm back from Nicaragua, I will go back to work my two jobs and make up for the missed income of the time I was gone, but I will also be charging ahead on my journey of searching for exactly how I can best serve others. That brings me to the second part of the use of any money raised...

I have been working with a hypnotherapist who is amazing, kind, loving, and has an energy that can instantly calm a room. A year ago, I didn't even know that hypnotherapy  is a real (and EFFECTIVE- like 90% effective in helping people quit smoking, for example!?) form of treatment and not just a stage act. I didn't know anything about it at all. I'm so captivated by freeing myself from negative and subconscious patterns in order to live my best life, and I'm equally excited and motivated to help others live their best life as well.

I will be starting out with a course in Energy Psychology a few weeks after I return from Nicaragua. Here's a short description of the course that I cannot WAIT to join:
"Course Description: Learn to use the body’s own feedback to balance the body’s energy system by creating rapid and powerful change. Energy Therapy modalities treat blockages in the energy flow created by negative thought patterns. These techniques help to eliminate anxieties, fears, self-sabotage programming and limiting beliefs. Energy Therapies address the same energy system as in acupuncture or acupressure by using simple tapping procedures. It aims at releasing negative emotions caused by a disruption in the body’s energy system. These gentle, mindful and natural modalities help to facilitate profound positive changes."

This page is a resource to donate any amount that's feasible for you to help me fulfill my dreams of helping others :) The Journey trip is $1525 and the Energy Psychology class is $995. Any amount that is donated will be used to help supplement the time taken off of work and the costs of these two life-changing experiences.

I feel so much love and support from those I am blessed to call my family and friends, and my heart could not be more full of gratitude. Anything you send my way- a dollar donation, a card, a care package, or kind words and prayers-everything is extremely appreciated. I thank you so much in advance for your love and support :)
