Volunteering in Borneo 2018
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sam and in mid-January of 2018 I will be going to Borneo to do volunteer work for 2 months. I am currently studying full-time at uni and I will be doing this over my holiday break. I will also be working non-stop leading up to January and return into my third week of uni.
While there, I will be participating in community work such as:
Construction - Making furniture/play equipment, building foundations for classrooms/water tanks, plastering/painting
Environmental conservation - Seed collecting/tree planting
Wildlife monitoring
The work will make a sizeable impact on each village we visit (2 weeks at each).
I will be going through Camps International, which is an amazing company who provide people with the opportunity to volunteer overseas in places you would never imagine visiting otherwise. This will be my second time doing this, as I volunteered in Kenya in 2013 for 3 months (Pictured).
Any contribution would be amazing and immensely appreciated. The cost of the program is $4900 which exludes flights, vaccinations, spending money, tips, gear, travel insurance etc. Most of which I’ll be trying to save for. I also intend to donate anything I have spare, as I did in Kenya (Mate and I purchased notebooks/pencils/pens for a school before exams and a bed for the homeless widower we built a house for).
