Volunteer Work for No More Deaths

In January, I (Greg) will be volunteering for the month-long desert aid program run by the Arizona humanitarian organization No More Deaths . No More Deaths is dedicated to ending death and suffering in the Arizona borderlands by providing direct humanitarian aid to migrants crossing the desert and by promoting more humane immigration policy.

I will be volunteering at NMD’s desert camp in Ajo, Arizona. Our main tasks will be 1) going on patrols to bring food, water, and supplies to aid stations in the desert, 2) providing direct aid to any migrants we encounter on the trails, 3) doing search and rescue for migrants reported lost in the desert, and 4) reporting any human remains that we find.

There are expenses associated with this volunteer work, and that is why I have begun this campaign. My campaign goal is $1500. This will hopefully cover the $375 cost for participation in the program, airfare to Arizona from Mexico City (about $500), camping supplies like a tent, sleeping bag for very cold nights, and pack (roughly $400), and other expenses for a month-long stay (food, etc.).

Your donations will help me be of service to our migrant brothers and sisters in need. Whatever you feel called to give, it is much appreciated!
