Volunteer Trip to Refugee Camp

I will be travelling to Greece to volunteer in the Ritsona Refugee Camp in March.  My focus in teaching is on at-risk adolescents and young adults, which I believe, will help me in volunteering.  There is no greater example of at-risk conditions than looking at those living in refugee camps; these people have been forced to give up everything and flee to another place with or without loved ones. This refugee camp is home to approximately 700 people, a portion of the refugees stuck in limbo in Greece. These refugees have experienced a reality of devastation and trauma that I will never entirely understand, however I strongly believe volunteering in the camp and learning from the people living there will greatly shape and improve my teaching and pedagogy.   The money raised will help in paying for flights to Greece as well as accommodations while volunteering.  This will be a profound learning experience for me and I am grateful for any help and contributions in this endeavor.
