In 1969, Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, two trans women of color, started the Stonewall riots. Through riots, protests, and brave activism these two women created the gateway for queer and trans rights all over the world.

Today in 2020, as we fight racism in the boldest way imaginable; Black and Brown queer and trans people of color are once again on the frontlines for injustice. Another way Black and Brown bodies show resistance is through living, breathing, and living in their truth. For many queer and trans people of color, Voguing is a form of protest. Showcasing femininity and elegance in a word that doesn’t respect your existence is the ultimate form of protest.

Vogue 4 #BlackLivesMatter is the newest project from director and choreographer Kemar Jewel. The money collected from this projectwill go towards paying Black and Brown queer and trans people for their performance and work on this video. Support artistry, activism, and vogue by donating to this GoFundMe ✊
