Ian Sings Opera in Italy

About a year and a half ago, I decided to go all in on my dream to become a professional opera singer. I received a very generous scholarship to attend Boise State University under the tutelage of Doctor Laura Rushing-Raynes, and moved a few short months later. This program has been everything I have hoped for, and more. After a semester and a half, I was able to have a voice lesson with the guest conductor of Opera Idaho's production of Puccini's "Madama Butterfly". Dean Williamson has had a prolific career, conducting operas in Seattle, Nashville, Cleveland, and other top level Opera Houses. He was an amazing teacher. He was thrilled with my voice, and after our lesson asked me to audition for a summer program he has been a part of in Lucca, Italy. This coming summer, along with 19 other aspiring professionals, I have the opportunity to spend four weeks in Lucca, in an intensive study program with some of the best teacher, coaches, and conductors in the world. Not only is this an incredible opportunity to hone my craft, the connections made could be the start of something big for my career. Here is where I need you. A successful career in the arts requires patrons. Even with a scholarship, the program is nearly impossible for me to do without any help.  I'm needing to raise about $5000 to cover all expenses (Flight, Food, Tuition, Housing, etc.). Over the next few months I will be holding two fundraising concerts, one in Seattle featuring a 3 course dinner and entertainment by "Momma's Boys", and one in Boise featuring some of Boise's best up and coming vocalists.
