Michael Taraborrelli Teacher Marine Friend

Welcome to Michael Taraborrelli’s GoFundMe page.  We are hoping to raise funds for Mike and his family to use to offset medical bills and general expenses incurred by his family during this difficult time.

On February 24, 2020, Mike was in the midst of a busy day teaching Social Studies to sixth graders at Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center.  Mid-morning he began feeling “off” and an ambulance had to be called.  After being taken to Chester County Hospital, he underwent many tests.  A CAT scan uncovered a mass on Mike’s brain.  He immediately was transferred to Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he underwent brain surgery to remove the mass.  Unfortunately, further testing determined the mass to be Grade 4 Glioblastoma, a very aggressive form of brain cancer.  Mike began treatment at H.U.P. on April 6, 2020. He will receive radiation and chemotherapy daily for 6 weeks. 

Mike is married to Ashleigh and they have two adorable children- a son, Vince, 3, and a daughter, Giulette, 11 weeks old. The family continues to process the news and have been amazing at letting us know what they need to help them navigate the upcoming weeks and months as Mike fights this horrific disease.  We all know what an amazing human Mike Taraborrelli is, and how much he means to those who know, work with, and love him.  Mike is a loving husband, a dedicated father, a compassionate teacher, dedicated athlete, trusted friend, and brave Marine.  He continues to have an incredible impact on the students that he teaches, the families that he interacts with, and the staff that he works with.  Mike exudes positive energy and relies on all of us now more than ever to pour positivity back into his life and the life of his family.
