Bringing Lea Home

Donation protected

Lea was born in July, 2011 and spent the first 21 days of her life in hospital with a collapsed lung and was diagnosed with Tetrology of Fallot, a congenital heart disease.  Lea returned to hospital in January, 2012 for open heart surgery and has been in hospital ever since due to some unforeseen circumstances and complications.  In that time (almost 7 months), Lea has had 3 major cardiac surgeries, another surgery removing the middle lobe of her right lung, a tracheotomy surgery, and 2 cardiac catheterizations with balloon dialations in the vessels of her heart and lungs.  The stenosis (narrowing in her vessels) is a terminal condition that will progress over time with very little chance for survival as it would entail a double transplant of both her heart and lungs.  Lea is stable but requires a ventilator and around the clock care.  In the meantime, her father and I have been at the hospital leaning to care for Lea in order to bring her home (in August).  Lea is a very bright, beautiful and playful child who we hope to spend as much time as possible with.  We are currently seeking financial assistance from anyone that is able to help.  There will be monthly costs of medical supplies and already outstanding costs for medical equipment and accommodations as the hospital is far from home.  We truly feel blessed for all the support and love that has been given and thank you in advance for your consideration in this difficult time.
