Save The Plane

Hi my name is Paul Brennan . I am the founder and a trustee of the Bring Our Birds Home New Zealand registered charitable trust. Our mission is to save and recover the only original members of New Zealand's historic jet fleets, 1959 - 2014. We are targeting six specific airplanes, but of this moment we are pulling out all the stops to save the only remaining original New Zealand (Kiwi) Boeing 747 passenger jumbo jet remaining on the planet, the ex ZK-NBV (tail number), named 'City Of Christchurch' also known as 'The Frodo Plane' after carrying Lord Of The Rings livery, promotionally supporting the LOTRs 'Two Towers' movie release in 2003. NBV was delivered new to Air New Zealand in November 1998, leaving the fleet in September 2014 after operating Air New Zealand's final 747 service from San Francisco to Auckland. This airplane is now in operational storage at Roswell New Mexico USA waiting for inevitable parts harvesting and scrapping by it's Florida based owner. We have a narrow window of time to raise money to - A) buy the plane, fly it to New Zealand and repatriate the x 4 GE engines (a very narrow window), and/or - B) buy the airplane and return it to New Zealand via road and ocean shipping in broken down component sections.
