Help Get Glenn’s Family to Memorial

Donation protected
One year ago we lost our dear friend and colleague Dr. Glenn Almany to cancer, and we sorely miss his larger than life personality and his humour, knowledge and friendship.

Glenn was a brilliant marine scientist with world class expertise on the ecology, conservation, and management of coral-reef fishes. Most recently, he was renowned for his ground-breaking work on fish larval dispersal, and for working with Pacific Island communities to tackle applied and ambitious research questions on fisheries management.

Shocked by his sudden and far too early loss, many of Glenn’s friends, colleagues, and collaborators will celebrate his productive scientific legacy in a special session entitled Reef Fish Ecology, Conservation, and Fisheries: the scientific legacy of Glenn Almany at the 13th International Coral Reef Symposium in Hawaii on 19-24 June 2016.  There will also be a social memorial session on the evening of Tuesday, June 21, where we’ll celebrate Glenn’s life with drinks, photos and fond remembrances.

Please help us cover the costs of bringing the people that Glenn loved most to Hawaii so they can attend his memorial sessions – his lovely wife Jeanine, their two beautiful children Maya and Ryan, and his parents Tom and Linda Almany.
