Bear’s Leg Amputation

Donation protected

Bear has been struggling a fatty lipoma for the last couple years. We found the fatty tumor in 2018 and took him to have it biopsied for cancer. During this time our vet removed the tumor while in the leg for the biopsy. The tumor is so aggressive that it grew back, double in size, within a couple of months. We took him back to the vet to get the tumor removed again to hopefully allow the skin to heal back. This did heal but as the tumor began to aggressively grow back again, his newly stitched skin wasn’t able to hold it closed. We took the poor guy back in for surgery for a more in depth removal including tighter stitching to help the skin heal. Once again the tumor came back and now is the size of a volleyball. After several vet consultations the decision has been made that the only options are to either amputate his leg or put Bear down. To us, the only logical option is to amputate his leg. In no way shape or form we want  to put our beloved Bear Bear down. He is a member of our family and we would love to keep it that way. With your help we would be able to put a dent into what the surgery will cost. Anything you donate helps so much. If you’re not able to donate we would just appreciate a share of this page and pray for a quick recovery for Bear. Surgery will most likely be the last week in October. He will have to stay in the hospital for a few days so they can monitor him closely and help him learn to walk without his other leg.

Thank you so much for reading!
