<li>My daddy, Eddie Porter, is the most caring person who helps everyone he comes across and leaves a lasting impact on them. This has been so apparent by the number of people who have been praying for him, checking on our family, and telling us stories about him. One of his favorite acts of kindness is go<strong>﻿</strong>ing on mission trips with our church family to help others. He is a retired law enforcement officer who served SC for over 25 years, and he is the BEST dad. He was in a hit and run a few weeks ago (June 26th) that has completely changed our lives forever. He has many fractures that have required multiple surgeries, including: a skull fracture, several broken vertebrae in his back, a broken wrist, numerous broken ribs, facial fractures, and many other severe injuries. At this time, it is unclear what impact these injuries will have on him in the future.

<li>We are used to helping others instead of asking for help, so making this GoFundMe is very difficult for us. My dad is the main provider for their household and is unable to do so at this time and for the unforeseeable future. His healing and recovery are going to be a very long process for him, and at a minimum, he will need rehabilitation services when he progresses enough to leave the hospital. Additional future needs for him are unknown at this time.
