My Family's Fight Against Leukemia

Around Thanksgiving of this past year, our mom Vivian Uhren was diagnosed with Leukemia. She started receiving chemotherapy treatments soon after which made her very ill and unable to continue working at her job at the Post Office.

Soon Viv will need to have a bone marrow transplant, which will require her to spend many weeks in Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota hospital. Ken has been by her side through all of her treatments, sickness from the chemo, and various medical setbacks that have come up over the past few months. Because his job delivering tools required him to be away from home for long hours several days a week, he had to leave that position to be home caring for Viv. As such, their income went down at a time when expenses are increasing.

There will be further expenses ahead as they need to make trips to the cities, and Ken commutes back and forth to continue to serve as minister for the church in Hewitt, MN.

We have set up this fund to help offset the expenses coming up while Viv is in the hospital for an extended period of time having her bone marrow transplant, such as travel expenses, medical costs, and household expenses.
